i have been obsessed with art my entire life and found my niche in the film and photography world. like a cat, i have had many lives. i was a film school & photography student, a stay at home mom, a social worker, a sales professional, and now i am a full time entrepreneur and professional photographer…and i love it. never have i been more nourished by a career. all of my life interests have led me here, and hopefully to working with you.

sound & sea photography is an award winning wedding photography and videography studio based in seattle serving the great pacific northwest!

sound & sea is also your premiere mother & daughter photography + videography team! in summer season while home in seattle on break from art school in Scotland- my daughter sophia often acts as my primary second shooter and/or primary lead videographer depending on the package you choose. go female entrepreneurs! ha! we have shot over 100 weddings together and have a silent language between us while shooting. as a photo/video team you will never have to worry about us competing for shots - we work seamlessly together to ensure every best angle is covered as unobtrusive as possible.

sound & sea has other vital team members as well - including my incredible lead associate photographer Antonio and several fabulous second shooters and lead videographers.

the sound & sea approach to a wedding day:

while i enjoy many different styles and types of photography - for weddings we primarily shoot in a documentary style and capture as many authentic candid moments as possible to tell the story of your day. we will also cover editorial style wedding portraiture as well. and trust - we are experts in working with couples - we will guide you along the way to push past any awkwardness & nerves you may have and capture the best of who you are as a couple!

raw emotion is the most important aspect we like to cover for portraits and weddings. this means less canned posing, and more interaction with your loved one. this also means authenticity over perfection. none of what you see in our portfolios are styled shoots; they are real couples in love. in the great outdoors of the PNW, you may have wind kick up your hair and get dirty boots along the way, and this is part of the charm. we will have a conversation about your expectations during a consultation to ensure we are a good match for our style of story telling.

my editing style is rich and dramatic, reminiscent of my favorite kodak & fuji film stocks. we mostly utilize natural light, but using a hint of flash can be an epic thing, so we got you covered for any type of lighting situation. i tend to shy away from trends and present photographs that will be as timeless, artistic, and beautiful today as they will be in twenty years time.
